Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Managers – Data Centre Projects This is a senior-level opportunity within a high-performing advanced technology division delivering mission-critical infrastructure.
The Expert Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of preconstruction commercial activities, ensuring robust cost planning, procurement alignment, and value engineering integration prior to construction execution. You will work closely with Design, Procurement, Project Controls, and Construction teams to ensure financial accuracy, risk mitigation, and commercial certainty.

A leading global engineering and construction specialist is seeking an Expert Quantity Surveyor to join a major data centre project in Helsinki, Finland.
Operating within a structured commercial governance environment, this role will focus on preconstruction commercial management, cost planning, procurement strategy, and package negotiation across technically complex hyperscale data centre developments throughout Northern Europe.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Develop project budgets in line with structured commercial processes
• Utilise digital quantification tools such as Bluebeam, CostX, and Revit
• Assist in procurement strategy development (package structuring, early procurement of long-lead items)
• Issue tenders to subcontractors and suppliers
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids
• Advise on procurement strategies and commercial risk
• Review and interrogate design for value engineering and alternative specification options
• Monitor project budgets and expenditure to prevent cost overruns
• Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts
• Identify and manage variations and change control
• Manage subcontractor applications, changes, and final accounts
• Provide commercial input into CVR reporting
• Maintain accurate commercial documentation and audit trails
Essential Criteria
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience with a main contractor
• Strong experience on large commercial or mission-critical construction projects
• Experience negotiating subcontract packages
• Strong analytical and numerical capability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work accurately with figures in high-value environments
Desirable
• Exposure to modular construction methodologies
• Experience within Nordic or Northern European markets
• Advanced proficiency in Bluebeam, CostX, or BIM-linked measurement tools
